The Mercury MR5 is a high-performance magnetic-stripe card reader built for OEM access control installations. It delivers a low-cost, low-power solution for system integrators. The Mercury MR5 is a ruggedized, multi-track device suited to both indoor and outdoor mounting.

This reader supports standard Wiegand, clock, and data signal formats. It also includes bi-color visual indicators and variable annunciation, so installers get clear status feedback at the door.

Built for Demanding Installations

According to the official Mercury Security datasheet, the MR5 operates across a wide temperature range of -40C to +75C. It also tolerates up to 100% humidity. This makes it a strong fit for outdoor and harsh-environment deployments across Saudi Arabia.

The reader draws just 20 milliamperes typical at +5Vdc or +12Vdc. Its aluminum housing includes static discharge protection. The unit is UL 294 Listed, CE compliant, and RoHS compliant, and it ships with a 2-year warranty.

Cable Runs and Compatibility

The nominal cable distance between the MR5 and its controller is up to 500 feet (150m). This gives installers flexibility on door-to-panel cable runs on larger sites.
