The Mercury MP2500 is an open-architecture intelligent controller. It scales to 64 doors or openings, making it a flexible fit for both small sites and large campuses. The MP2500 runs on the Mercury standard, so it works with OEM access control platforms instead of locking you into one vendor.
What the MP2500 Does
The controller handles three core jobs in one unit: access control, alarm management, and scheduled operations. An on-board Ethernet port connects it directly to cloud-based or server-based access control hosts. This keeps installation simple for integrators.
The MP2500 has no built-in reader or I/O ports. Instead, it is designed to expand. Add Mercury I/O modules and reader interface panels to match the exact door and input/output count your project needs. Total capacity reaches up to 1,024 inputs and 1,024 outputs.
Built-In Security
Security is layered into the hardware itself. The MP2500 includes ARM TrustZone, a secure boot CPU, and a dedicated crypto chip. Data at rest is encrypted, and the controller is FIPS 140-3 compliant through its use of OpenSSL. Cardholder capacity reaches 600,000 records, which suits large enterprise and government deployments.
Easy Migration From Legacy Systems
The MP2500 is part of Mercury’s MP Intelligent series. It supports a legacy compatibility mode, so sites migrating from older LP controllers can upgrade hardware without changing their host software. This protects existing investments in access control software while modernizing the field hardware.
