Description
The Mercury MR5 is a high-performance, cost-effective magnetic-stripe card reader built for OEM access control installations. It is a low-cost, low-power, multi-track, ruggedized device suited to both indoor and outdoor mounting, and it supports standard Wiegand, clock, and data signal formats with bi-color visual indicators and variable annunciation.
The nominal cable distance between the MR5 and its controller is up to 500 feet. This gives installers flexibility on door-to-panel cable runs on larger sites.
As a Mercury-native reader, the MR5 is designed to pair directly with Mercury controllers as part of a fully Mercury-standard door hardware chain. It is field-proven across harsh environments where a lower-cost single-factor reader is the right specification.
